Richard was born and raised in Colorado where he learned to love the great outdoors.  He received degrees in History and Education from Western State College and Educational Administration from the University of Colorado.  Richard spent many happy years teaching at the elementary level and teaching history in high school.  He particularly enjoyed helping students use their imaginations to write stories, and he loved having time after retirement to become a storyteller himself.
